ED307 Partnering Pedagogy

Partnering was a great read and really a breath of fresh air for me.  I felt a sense of appreciation for the way the author, Marc brought his text to life. I can see how partnering will be a great resource for me in the future, and I have already introduced the concept to my wife who is currently teaching Spanish. I believe that students have an opportunity to work hand and hand with teachers, administrators, and other staff to enhance their education.

I absolutely love the idea of partnering as a strategy for advancing the education of students and teachers all across the world, not just in my local school district.  This is an approach that will change the way that educators experience teaching as the teacher is not just seen as the expert, but a coach that has the ability to push students past what they may have thought was impossible.

Partnering is essentially about the art of asking questions that lead to high-level thinking, problem-solving, and creating a mindset of student-teacher collaboration. Partnering takes the worry out of teaching because teachers can spend more time truly educating and not just standing in front of a whiteboard lecturing. Students are given the ability to solve problems and think critically for themselves.  Instead of the teacher having all the answers, the students come up with the answers and dive deeper into what truly matters to them.  Students are empowered to reach further in their learning through discovery and exploration. Students and teachers have the ability to research new technologies and invent systems that work for the individual and not just the whole class, but the whole person.
